I want to continue to explore Ravenna, the city which saw me growing up, and I want to bring my camera to Bari and the Puglia region, my place of birth and arena of some of the most ancient and bloody history in the Italian peninsula. As in all my work I will be expecting the unexpected, as I am sure the project will take its own shape.
The creative process is too important to allow the mind to control it.

The completed part of this project was exhibited in January 2008 at the rental and sales Gallery of the Los Angeles County Museum of Art. One of the images, “Pine on Gravel Road” was accepted by curators of MOCA, LACMA and The Huntington for Artseen 3 in Los Angeles. 17 images were published in the UK based magazine SIlvershotz, also in the year 2008.

Why not combining the internet’s reaching potential with the passion of many to help the Arts and allow them to do so by doing it directly rather than trough third parties?

While it is true that foundations select artists through panels of professionals in the Arts thus protecting the investment of the donors, it is also true that the majority of grants are intended (this is especially true for photography), for artists whose work is socially relevant in the most widely accepted interpretation of the term.
This puts photographers like me, whose work doesn’t meet this criteria, (but in my opinion does contains a deep social and spiritual value), in a disadvantaged position in respect to a photojournalistic style photography.

Your donation will be instrumental to the furthering of this project which I keep dear in my heart. In return you will receive a special gift as a reminder of your passion for the Arts.

If you are an artist I encourage you to consider my same initiative to collect funds for your projects. If you know an artist who is struggling to get the necessary to create, direct them to this page. This is an attempt to re-establish an artist-patron relationship, which can also help to create a more balanced rapport between Artists and the Art market.

The link at the top of the page will lead you to Paypal where you will be able to donate any amount you are willing to give.

No offer is too small.

If you prefer to send a check, please do so at the address below.

Thank you

To be an artist means to obey an inner urge to create.

In order to bring to completion one of my photographic projects I have been applying for grants, my positive attitude is undying but unfortunately success on this front is still to come.
Lingering Past is the name of the project. It is a collection of moody, quiet, Italian landscapes. At this stage this project depicts Venice and its surrounding, and in small part Ravenna but it is my intention to expand to other areas of Italy
